Big delays at 3A state tournament

The Prairie Falcons will play top-ranked Holy Names in the Class 3A state girls basketball quarterfinals, probably in about 20 minutes. Yes, about 5 p.m. The game was scheduled for 3:30 p.m., but the consolation games have gone long.

Meanwhile, the Union Titans are getting ready to play Rainier Beach in the boys quarterfinals. That game was supposed to start at 5 p.m., but will likely start at 5:30 or 5:45 p.m.
