Union boys join Prairie girls in state quarterfinals

The Union Titans started slow, but finished fast and strong Wednesday, beating North Central of Spokane 63-54 in the first-round of the Class 3A state boys basketball tournament in the Tacoma Dome.

Chris Morgan scored 21 points and Caleb Whalen added 12 points and six rebounds to lead the Titans.

Union will face Rainier Beach in Thursday’s quarterfinals. Tip-off is scheduled for 5 p.m.
