Basketball update
The Class 3A bi-district tournament opened Friday, and the Union Titans have clinched a spot to the state boys basketball tournament. The Hudson’s Bay boys lost and will fall into the consolation bracket. Meanwhile, the Prairie boys lost, ending their season. In girls play, Camas lost and will fall into the consolation bracket. The Prairie and Union girls play Saturday night.
Boys:
Union 92, Kennedy 79
Foster 71, Hudson’s Bay 56 (This is the official score. It showed 69 on the scoreboard, but the official scorer made the adjustment after the game.)
Evergreen (Seattle) 63, Prairie 50
Girls:
Mount Rainier 56, Camas 51
The 4A bi-district, one-game playoffs are scheduled for Saturday. The winners advance to state. The losers will see their seasons come to an end.
Boys:
Eastlake at Mountain View, 7 p.m.
Skyview at Lake Washington, 7 p.m.
Girls:
Issaquah at Evergreen, 7:30 p.m. (Please note the time change.)
Skyview at Newport, 7 p.m.
The Class 2A boys district tournament starts today. All three of the Class 2A GSHL girls teams lost in the opening round of their tournament Friday night.
2A girls:
Black Hills 71, Woodland 60
Elma 73, Hockinson 54
Tumwater 54, Ridgefield 42
In 1A basketball, the Stevenson boys missed out on a berth to state by a point, while the La Center girls play in a winner-to-state, loser-out game on Saturday.
1A boys:
Ilwaco 59, Stevenson 58
And at the 1B state tournament, King’s Way lost in consolation round play in both boys and girls, ending their seasons.
