Shopping for hope and healing
About 60 shoppers raised $6,400 to help provide retreats for women with breast cancer.
The first Shop for Hope and Healing event was held Dec. 10 at the Nordstrom Downtown Portland. The exclusive night of shopping included personal shoppers, wine, appetizers, desserts and gifts.
The event, which was attended by 66 people, raised more than $6,400 through ticket sales and donations for the Pink Lemonade Project.
Dr. Allen Gabriel and his wife, Dr. Cassie Gabriel, co-founders of the Pink Lemonade Project, worked with the PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center Foundation to establish the Pink Lemonade Fund. Money raised helps subsidize the cost of multi-day educational retreats for women who’ve been diagnosed with breast cancer.
The Pink Lemonade Project plans to make Shop for Hope and Healing an annual event.
