Shopping for a cause

Why not sweeten holiday shopping with some Pink Lemonade?

That’s the message the local nonprofit Pink Lemonade Project is spreading this holiday season.

The Pink Lemonade Project’s mission is to provide breast cancer patients and their families with education and support opportunities that offer hope and healing for the mind, body and spirit.

The nonprofit uses money raised to provide retreats, educational programs and support for breast cancer patients.

Pink Lemonade’s latest event raises money and awareness for the nonprofit.

The event, Shopping for Hope & Healing, is from 4 to 7 p.m. Dec. 10 at the Nordstrom Downtown Portland.

Shoppers pay $50 to RSVP for the event. That money goes to the nonprofit and gets shoppers a private room at Nordstrom where they can enjoy drinks, appetizers, a chance to win gifts, personal shopping in the store and dessert.

The Pink Lemonade Project was founded by Drs. Allen and Cassie Gabriel — vocal advocates for breast cancer patients.
