From The “Meaningless Gesture” File . . .
Ohio State has vacated all of its football victories from last season, including a Sugar Bowl win over Arkansas.
This severe, draconian, self-imposed punishment must be extremely painful to, I don’t know . . . somebody. I mean, they even forfeited the victory over Michigan, ending the Buckeyes’ seven-year winning streak over the Wolverines.
See, it says so right here where the Columbus Dispatch keeps a running total of “Days since Michigan’s last victory over Ohio State in football.” Hmmm, that’s odd, it still says 2785. Didn’t Michigan score a victory over Ohio State on Friday? Shouldn’t it say 0?
Maybe this whole “vacating” of victories isn’t so painful, after all.
