Can Portland Land NBA All-Star Game?

Dwight Jaynes has an insightful look at Portland’s inability to land an NBA All-Star Game. Or maybe, according to Jaynes, it’s more like disinterest.

The excuse has always been that there isn’t enough hotel space in the city. But as Jaynes points out:

And honestly, hotel rooms or not — and with all the damn trolleys and trains running around this town, our hotels are all accessible from the Rose Quarter — this town DESERVES an NBA All-Star Game. And the Blazers damn well ought to start bidding for it again.
