National French Bread Day

French Bread Loaves

Hooray! I love food holidays and if they have anything to do with bread it’s even better. Does a national holiday focused on bread bring fear to your soul? It shouldn’t, even if you have to avoid all things gluten, French bread can still be part of your life.

Sliced French Bread Loaves
French bread was and is a favorite in my house! Who doesn’t love a slice of French bread loaded with garlic butter or cheese with a plate of pasta or along with a bowl of your favorite chowder?
If you have a loaf of French bread, you could easily make a pizza for a quick lunch or dinner. Just top it with your favorite pizza toppings and broil it for a bit in the oven. Quick meal to prepare on those days that seem to be non stop, but you still have a hungry crew. Serve a salad along with it and you’ve got a complete meal!

Stuffed Pumpkin French Toast

One of my favorite meals to use French bread is breakfast! The best French toast is made with crusty French bread. Top it with whatever you please from flavored cream cheese to fresh berries or simply use syrup. Some days, my kids opt for just powdered sugar.
However you decide to enjoy French bread today, it’s quick and easy to make at home! You might even be able to find a good loaf at a local gluten-free bakery or grocer. It’s a tasty way to celebrate a Thursday, don’t you think?
