National Cupcake Day!
My daughter absolutely loves cupcakes, this day was made just for her. After all, a day celebrating her favorite creation is huge, right? She loves to decorate, dress up and imagine better ways to make the humble cupcake into a work of art!
While my daughter loves the decoration of the cupcakes, creating beautiful works of art, I like to make them taste just as good as they look. One of my favorite flavor combination of all times has got to be chocolate and peppermint, chocolate and coconut is also a tasty option. Having a bit of coconut hidden inside a chocolate cupcake is every better like in Coconut Surprise Chocolate Cupcakes.
Cupcakes can be not only fun for kids parties, but also a fancy dessert. Dressed up with elegant decorations or just elegant flavors can add that fancy flair to just about any cake. While I know it’s not Valentines Day, it’s always a good time for a romantic dessert. Red Velvet Cupcakes are just that, the perfect dessert to enjoy after a romantic meal by the fire or in front of the Christmas tree.
Frosting can make or break your cupcakes. While there are many available in the store to purchase that are ready made, making your own is so easy. One of my favorites is Chocolate Butter Cream, so rich and smooth, it pipes onto a cupcake beautifully. It can also be spread on with a butter knife or spatula. Add a few pretty sprinkles and you have a beautiful and tasty topping to your cupcake.
Enjoy the day, make some cupcakes and have some fun decorating them. After all, according to my daughter, that is the best part anyway.
