The Story of Belly Dance in America from 1893 through 1979 will be presented Friday and Saturday, March 8th and 9th at the Old Liberty Theater in Ridgefield.
Friday evening there will be a belly dance fashion show, with vintage costumes of the 50’s, 60’s and 70’s, followed by a party and free film screening of an expanded version of the fashion show. Tickets are $5 or $10 after February 23.
Workshops on Saturday will include Marguerite’s Vintage Turkish Cabaret, Jenza’s The Vanished Steps, and Marguerite’s Whirling without Hurling. Check Jenza.com/bellydanceinamerica for details and prices.
Saturday evening at 7:30, local resident Ilia Wilken will be the Mistress of Ceremony for the Belly Dance in America Show. Tickets are $15 or $20 after February 23, and may be purchased at the Old Liberty Theater or by phone at 360-887-7260.
