My new painting, Gee Creek Idyll, was painted from a photograph I took of this family playing along Gee Creek at the 4th of July picnic. I loved the way the sun shone through the trees, with the sparkling lights of the water flashing around their legs. They looked so happy.
We’re lucky to live in such a scenic spot!
This painting is for sale at Alcove Art Gallery during the month of October – come down and see it! Alcove is open Wednesday through Saturday, 10am to 4 pm. We’ll also be open this Sunday in honor of BirdFest, and will have a tent up to shelter any jammers that want to play music outside the store.
