Neil Diamond Tribute at Old Liberty Theater in Ridgefield

The Old Liberty Theater in downtown Ridgefield, Washington, will host a tribute to Neil Diamond on September 29th when Tony Starlight brings his ‘Hot August Night’ Neil Diamond Tribute to town.

August 24th marked the 40th anniversary of Neil Diamond’s seminal live album ‘Hot August Night.’ Other groups offer tributes to the master every year, but the Tony Starlight Neil Diamond Tribute differs from similar tributes in three key ways:

Musically it is a faithful rendition of Neil in his heyday with no prerecorded tracks. Tony’s Neil voice is spot on, in both tone and inflection. Hear for yourself: http://www.youtube.com/starlightmoments

The show doesn’t take itself too seriously. Tony is a musical comedian, so the show is a fun mix of music and comedy. And sing-a-long!

It is in a seated concert setting, NOT a “stand-like-sardines-for-two-hours-in-a-venue-that-thinks-all-you-want-to-hear-is-drums-and-bass.”

I’m looking forward to hearing those old songs again. The show starts at 8:00 pm on Saturday, September 29 at the Old Liberty Theater, 113 North Main Avenue in Ridgefield. Tickets are $15 and may be reserved by calling 887-7260.
