Ridgefield’s own Rick Browne had a nice write-up in the “Bits ‘n’ pieces” column in the Columbian last night. In case you missed it, our celebrity chef participated in episode four of the “Chopped: Grill Masters” show on the Food Network, which airs this Sunday at 9pm. He had 20 minutes to combine four ingredients into an appetizer.

Rick has written more than ten grilling and barbecue cookbooks and was the host of the PBS TV show ‘Barbecue America.’

You can try some of his cooking at Couvapalooza, an all-day music festival and benefit for Clark County school music programs, August 18 in Esther Short Park. He’ll be serving tri-tip steak, pulled pork, hot dogs for the kids, and maybe some ribs. Buy tickets online at for $15 or $18 at the door.
