We have a new store in Ridgefield. Sarah Costa has opened Sarah Costa Photography in downtown Ridgefield. I asked her to write up a short piece describing her business and here’s what she told me:
I am really excited to have my own studio in Ridgefield. After several years in business I have been looking for a location to meet with my family and wedding clients as well and photograph babies and children.
I create fun and creative spaces to use as a background for my clients’ images with vintage toys, colorful textiles and textures to add artistic interest for my studio work. When planning a studio session with a client I like to add as much of my client’s personality to their set as possible. Many clients bring in their child’s favorite toys, blankets or books and I work with them on planning outfits. Then I often hand make background elements to bring everything together in a fun way. As an artist my goal is always to make my clients feel comfortable and relaxed to bring out genuine smiles and capture that moment in their life.
I offer a large variety of on location photography as well. During the drier months much of my work takes place outdoor on location for families, children, high school seniors, maternity, children and of course weddings. I also work with artists who are looking for great images of their work or business for their website and portfolios.
Growing up in Ridgefield and having my family as well as many friends and clients there made the decision to open my studio there a very natural one. I love the community and the space works just right for me.
I am so blessed to be the mom to four wonderful daughters. I enjoy spending time with them crafting sewing, exploring outside, gardening, and of course documenting their childhoods with my camera as much as possible. My youngest two will be starting kindergarten in the fall, opening up many hours of the day for me for the first time in over a decade of having little ones at home with me during the day!
My plans for my business are to continue to create images that make people feel something and provide them with something unique and fun.
