Vie de Bohème
If anyone’s not been to Vie de Bohème in SE Portland, it’s a worthwhile stop for wine lovers and salsa dancers.
My husband and I have been several times and we’ve even taken my 16 year-old niece to listen to a renowned harmonica player. What can I say? She is a well-rounded gal always up for an adventure.
You might catch a Groupon for Vie de Bohème’s wine tasting and appetizer plate for two. Even if you don’t score one of those, it’s completely worth full price, I promise.
The people who work there are knowledgeable and passionate about the wines they offer. Aside from that, I love the space. Whether you’re sitting at the bar for the 5-flight tastings or hanging out at a comfy table with a full pour and some small plates to pair it with, the care that’s been taken to make the room feel European has paid off.
Plus, they have a diverse line-up of musical offerings. Salsa night where you can actually learn a salsa dance or sit back and watch (though participation is a lot more fun), disco night, jazz, Latin, swing time, rock ‘n roll and, yes, Arthur Moore’s Harmonica Party, which really is a lot of fun to watch. Arthur allows anyone who knows how to play the harmonica to join him for a few bars.
So, if you like audience participation, really good wine, a friendly staff who knows what they’re pouring, a plethora of music genres in a space that feels like the living room you wish you had, Vie de Bohème is an exciting wine bar to visit.
Vie de Bohème is located at 1530 SE 7th Ave (7th and Clay), Portland, OR.
