Cat-Friendly Ideas for Holiday and Year-Round Giving
The holidays are the perfect time of year to give back to the charities and organizations that you feel most passionate about — and if you’re a cat lover, Furry Friends is the perfect place to share some holiday joy. There are lots of ways to help cats & kittens during the holiday season and, really, anytime. For so many of us it seems like our homes are already filled with “stuff”, making us feel that it makes no sense to give one another even more “stuff”. One gift option chosen by more and more people is to make a donation in someone’s name. This is a lovely way to honor the relationship with the gift receiver while contributing to meaningful work. http://furryfriendswa.org/donate/
Furry Friends also appreciate donations of new items such as paper towels, kitty litter, bleach, Natural Balance canned and dry cat food to name a few items. Or perhaps a gift card to Orchards Feed or All Natural Pet Supply so we can buy exactly what we need. We also have wish lists on Amazon, giving donors a chance to have that “shopping” experience while doing something wonderful. Or link an Amazon purchase to Furry Friends through Amazon Smile. http://furryfriendswa.org/online-purchasing/
You might consider fostering an adoptable cat to give a homeless pet love and comfort and to help Furry Friends which is an all volunteer organization, rescue more cats. Becoming a foster family or volunteering in other ways for Furry Friends is very rewarding. Or, you might consider opening your home more permanently, as a “forever home”, adopting a homeless cat. There are so many wonderful cats and kittens just waiting for. What about giving a pet somewhere to finish his or her days surrounded by kindness and warmth?
