The relationship, or lack of, between Formations and Environmental Services

To those of you questioning whether there’s a shady relationship between Formations Design Group and the Clark County Environmental Services Department, the answer appears to be no.

Last week, the Clark County council approved a $150,000 contract between Formations and Environmental Services for web design services. The three-year contract only covers on-call services, however. Environmental Services must use in-house staff unless they’re unable to complete the request.

Several asked on Facebook whether Formation’s co-owner Bruce Wilson was related in any way to Rep. Lynda Wilson, R-Vancouver. He isn’t. I called him and asked. We also checked voter data, social media and the Whitepages and found no relationship.

Wilson said he’s met Benton, director of Environmental Services, only once during a fire alarm. Wilson was at the county offices giving a class on Google Analytics when the alarm went off, and was shepherded out with Benton, whose office was near the classroom, he said.

“I got tagged along to go out with Don to go outside,” Wilson said.
