Recent election results show no change

With no more ballots left to count, according to the Clark County Elections Office, here are the final totals from the Primary Election. Nothing changed from our most recent report, but if you’ve ever questioned whether your vote counts, check out the numbers in that chair race.

In the race for Clark County council chair:

64,731 votes were counted.
There were 378, or .58 percent, overvotes (meaning someone voted for more than one candidate).
There were 169, or .26 percent, undervotes (meaning someone submitted a ballot but did not vote in this race.
Tom Mielke, Republican, received 4,064, or 6.33 percent, of the votes.
Jeanne Stewart, Republican, received 9,444, or 14.71 percent, of the votes.
David Madore, Republican, received 16,370, or 25.5 percent, of the votes.
Mike Dalesandro, Democrat, received 17,084, or 26.62 percent, of the votes.
Marc Boldt, no party preference, received 17,102, or 26.65 percent, of the votes.

In the race for Clark County council District 2:

18,763 ballots were counted.
There were 66, or .35 percent, overvotes (meaning someone voted for more than one candidate).
There were 328, or 1.75 percent, undervotes (meaning someone submitted a ballot but did not vote in this race.
Chuck Green, Democrat, received 4,795, or 26.1 percent, of the votes.
Mike Pond, Democrat, received 3,556, or 19.36 percent, of the votes.
Mary Benton, Republican, received 3,279, or 17.85 percent, of the votes.
Tanner Martin, no party preference, received 1,008, or 5.49 percent, of the votes.
Julie Olson, Republican, received 5,707, or 31.07 percent, of the votes.

In the race for Vancouver City Council, Pos. 5:

22,258 ballots were counted.
There were 33, or .15 percent, overvotes (meaning someone voted for more than one candidate).
There were 1,121, or 5.04 percent, undervotes (meaning someone submitted a ballot but did not vote in this race.
Linda Glover received 7,697, or 36.47 percent, of the votes.
Kathleen Metzger received 4,509, or 21.37 percent, of the votes.
Ty Stober received 8,743, or 41.43 percent, of the votes.

In the race for Battle Ground School District, Director No. 4:

10,628 ballots were counted.
There were 8, or .08 percent, overvotes (meaning someone voted for more than one candidate).
There were 1,237, or 11.64 percent, undervotes (meaning someone submitted a ballot but did not vote in this race.
Dick Rylander received 3,091, or 32.94 percent, of the votes.
Mavis Nickels received 4,481, or 47.76 percent, of the votes.
Ben Kapelka received 1,706, or 18.18 percent, of the votes.

In the race for Port of Vancouver commissioner, District No. 2:

16,290 ballots were counted.
There were 31, or .19 percent, overvotes (meaning someone voted for more than one candidate).
There were 1,002, or 6.15 percent, undervotes (meaning someone submitted a ballot but did not vote in this race.
Peter Harrison received 1,176, or 7.71 percent, of the votes.
Bob Durgan received 1,473, or 9.65 percent, of the votes.
Bill Hughes received 1,044, or 6.84 percent, of the votes.
Nick Ande received 2,263, or 14.83 percent, of the votes.
Scott Dalesandro received 1,979, or 12.97 percent, of the votes.
Eric LaBrant received 3,345, or 21.92 percent, of the votes.
Lisa Ross received 3,901, or 25.57 percent, of the votes.
