Burrr… Cold Showery Weekend Ahead
Happy Friday everyone and welcome to spring in the Pacific Northwest! That is code for, “it’s going to be cold and occasionally wet this weekend.” A trough of low pressure will slide down over the Pacific Northwest this weekend bringing with it plenty of showers and colder than normal daytime highs both Saturday and Sunday. Snow levels will once again fall to near pass levels and remain there through the weekend. High temperatures across the Portland metro area will struggle to get above 50 degrees both Saturday and Sunday. If you are like me and have outdoor plans, you will definitely want to bring your umbrella this weekend. The average high temperature for Portland / Vancouver this time of the year is 60 degrees. We will be running as much as 8-10 degrees below normal for daytime highs this weekend. Looking ahead to next week, models show more of the same, albeit not quite as cold. Once again it looks like no warm and dry weather is in sight over the next 5-7 days. When looking at April to date, we are running about 1.5 degrees above normal on temperatures, and about average on rainfall. Sounds like spring in the Pacific Northwest. Bundle up this weekend. It is going to feel more like early March than mid April.
Stay tuned!
