AMS Weather Meeting This Thursday!
AMS Weather Meeting This Thursday!
Just a quick reminder that we have an excellent and exciting AMS meeting this coming Thursday that you will not want to miss. Respected Bonneville Power Administration Meteorologist and Oregon AMS member Chris Karafotias will give an updated presentation on the Madden-Julian Oscillation. This is a fascinating subject matter presentation that I have personally heard Chris give before. With updated winter 2010/11 data added in, Chris may be able to answer key questions as to why this year’s La Nina was somewhat different from others that we have experienced in the past.
This meeting is open to AMS members as well as the general public and will be held at the popular Start Street Pizza in Portland this coming Thursday night, April 21st. No RSVP is needed. Lets show Chris our support, while eating some of Portland’s best pizza! Maximum room capacity is 75, so please arrive early for best seating. We will have a social hour from 6-7pm with the main presentation beginning at 7pm.
