Saturday recap: How local players fared
Here’s the rundown of how Clark County players fared on the college gridiron Saturday.
— Southern Oregon quarterback Austin Dodge (Skyview) completed 32 of 39 passes for 460 yards and five touchdowns in the most efficient outing of his career. Running back Zach Marshall (Camas) accumulated 79 yards on 12 carries and got the Raiders going with a 1-yard TD run to cap an 82-yard drive to open the game.
With its 66-21 win at Dickinson State, Southern Oregon has scored 195 points in the past three weeks.
— Ashton Clark (Heritage) had six catches for 93 yards and a touchdown, but No. 2 Eastern Washington lost at home 49-34 to No. 4 Sam Houston State. Ashton Miller (Evergreen) and Steven Forgette (Heritage) anchored the line for an offense that gained 596 yards.
— Linfield cornerback Ian Zarosinski (Skyview) had a 71-yd interception return for a touchdown in a 45-0 win at Case Western in Cleveland. Jeremy Girod (Fort Vancouver) had four tackles, three of them for loss.
— Mitch Saylor (Union) caught a 15-yard touchdown pass in Montana’s 34-16 loss to Northern Arizona.
— Odin Coe (Camas) had two tackles in Montana State’s 63-20 win over North Dakota.
— Zak Browning (Union) led Southern Utah with 13 tackles, including four solo stops and a half sack. The Linebacker is the leading tackler for the Thunderbirds, which beat Northern Colorado 27-21 to improve to 4-1 on the season.
— Western Oregon running back Nathaniel Penaranda (Union) had 10 carries for 48 yards as the Wolves beat Simon Fraser 30-9.
— Colorado State quarterback Garrett Grayson (Heritage) was 17-28 passing for 307 yds and three 3 touchdowns in a 59-42 win over UTEP. Now, about those uniforms …
