Week 2 Roundup: How Clark County players fared

In the second full weekend of college football, more Clark County players took the field as several Northwest small colleges started their seasons.

Each week, Tailgate Talk will publish a list of each local player whose college teams were in action.

Colorado State

Garrett Grayson, Heritage, Sr. QB — Grayson was was 31-of-58 passing for 434 yards with three touchdowns and two interceptions in Colorado State’s 37-24 loss at Boise State.

“They came out and punched us early in the mouth. It kinda of took us a while to respond, I think,” Grayson said. “Then I shot us in the foot with a late interception while we were driving.”

Central Washington

Tyler Grant, Prairie, Fr. OL — Did not play.
Kevin Haynes, Battle Ground, So. LB — Started and had five tackles (3 solo, 2 assisted) in the Wildcats’ 48-14 loss to Montana.
Kaben Humphrey-Butler, Union, So. WR — Did not play.
Gabe Rego, Union, So. LB — Had one tackle.
Leon Siofele, Union, Fr. RB — Did not play.
Josh Stolz, Mountain View, So. OL — Started at left guard for a line that allowed one sack.
Jesse Zalk, Prairie, So. WR — Had two kickoff returns to 49 yards, including one for 41 yards. Had four catches for 11 yards.

Eastern Oregon

John Payne, Camas, So.* DB — Had five tackles in Eastern Oregon’s 45-27 win over Menlo.
Jorden Payne, Camas, Fr. DB — Had one tackle and one pass broken up.
Jonathan Branson, Columbia River, Fr. Ath — Did not play.
Jayson Branson, Columbia River, Fr., Combo — Did not play.
Bennett Muasau, Mountain View, Fr.* OL — Played in Eastern’s win over Menlo.

Eastern Washington

Roldan Alcobendas, Camas, Fr.* K — Made a 22-yard field goal and all seven of his extra points in Eastern’s wild 59-52 loss to Washington.
T.J. Boatright, Union, Jr.* OL — Played but did not start.
Zach Eagle, Camas, Fr. WR — Did not play

George Fox

John Smarr, Battle Ground, Fr. LB — Played, but did not record a tackle in George Fox’s first ever football game, a 30-27 loss to Arizona Christian University.

Ellis Henderson, Skyview, Jr. WR — Had one catch for four yards and a 23-yard kickoff return in Montana’s 48-14 win over Central Washington.

Addison Owen, Camas, Jr.* DE — Had one tackle.
Ryan Johnson, Mountain View, So.* DE — Had two tackles (one solo and one assisted)

Montana State

Odin Coe, Camas, Jr. DE — Had four tackles and one pass breakup in Montana State’s 57-10 win over Black Hills State.


Jed Barnett, Union, Sr. P — Punted six times for an average of 39.3 yards and a long of 43 in Oklahoma’s 52-7 win over Tulsa. Had one touchback and one downed at the Tulsa 4.

Oregon State

Drew Clarkson, Camas, Fr. OL — Did not play.

Portland State

Brandon Brody-Heim, Union, Jr. LB — Had four tackles, (two solo, two assisted) in the Vikings’ 45-38 win over Western Oregon.
Kieran McDonagh, Skyview, Jr. QB — Completed 13 of 25 passes for 166 yards with two touchdowns and one interception. He also rushed for 41 yards and one touchdown.
John Norcross, Camas, Fr.* LB — Had one tackle, the first of his college career.

Southern Oregon

Austin Dodge, Skyview, Sr., QB — Completed 21 of 30 passes for 281 yards and two touchdowns as the No. 22 Raiders’ beat No. 2 Carroll College 38-35.
Dylan Bratlie, Skyvew, Jr. OL — Started at right tackle on a line that helped Southern Oregon gain 280 rushing yards.
Antonio Pulido, Heritage, Fr. DL — Did not play.
Max Proudfit, Union, Jr. OL — Started at right guard on a line that allowed only one sack.


Hayden Schuh, Skyview, So., DB — Did not play in UW’s 59-52 win over Eastern Washington.

Washington State

Erik Powell, Seton Catholic, Fr.*, K — Made a 25-yard field goal, but missed field goals from 37 and 38 yards in WSU’s 24-13 loss to Nevada on Friday.
Parker Henry, Skyview, So.* LB — Played but did not record a tackle.

Western Oregon

Nathaniel Penaranda, Union, Sr. RB — Had seven carries for 17 yards and one catch for seven yards in Western’s 45-38 loss to Portland State.
