Timbers training in Tucson 31 Jan
A few quick updates from Timbers training in Tucson today that you may or may not have already heard; will work to get some after the match quotes from Caleb Porter tomorrow night.
Jack Jewsbury trained lightly on the sidelines today and didn’t appear to be walking with a limp so the high hamstring injury doesn’t seem to be to bad at the moment. More to follow tomorrow…
Hanyer Mosquera trained with the Timbers (full speed today and yesterday from what I could see) so it seems likely he will play tomorrow; not sure if he will start but it seems likely he will see some minutes.
Brent Richards has returned to Portland; it’s unclear why at the moment – as with the status on Jack Jewsbury will see what information becomes available tomorrow.
Plenty of possession training today both on and off the ball from an attacking as well as defending point of view. Others may have seen this before but today was the first day I saw Ryan Johnson specifically doing training with his back to goal atop the 18 yard box.
In case you didn’t know Chabala is on trial with Houston as well… As for our Western Conference opponent, Colorado Rapids, they dropped to 0-2 during the pre-season against Houston tonight; plenty of chances for the Rapids – just a number of them off-target or right at the Houston keeper.
All for now – will look to provide some sort of match analysis this weekend for the game tomorrow.
