Timbers players Eric Alexander, David Horst team with Aston Villa players in visit to Randall Children’s Hospital July 23
WHAT: Portland Timbers midfielder Eric Alexander and defender David Horst will team up with three players from famed English Premier League club Aston Villa FC while in Portland on a U.S. preseason tour to visit patients and families at Randall Children’s Hospital on Monday, July 23.
The professional soccer players will join the Children’s Cancer Association’s Music Rx team on in-room visits and in creating music with kids and families through the CCA’s award-winning, in-hospital music medicine program. For kids fighting cancer and other life-threatening illnesses, taking a moment to laugh, play and just be a kid can make a world of difference.
WHEN: Monday, July 23, from 2-3 p.m.
WHERE: Randall Children’s Hospital at Legacy Emmanuel, 2801 North Gantenbein Ave., Portland, OR 97227
Media are required to check in with the Randall Children’s Hospital public relations staff in the main lobby. Parking is available in Parking Structure 4 on North Gantenbein Ave.

TIMBERS vs. ASTON VILLA EXHIBITION DETAILS: The Portland Timbers play host to the English Premier League’s Aston Villa Football Club in an international friendly on Tuesday, July 24, at JELD-WEN Field at 7:30 p.m. (Pacific). Aston Villa, one of the founding clubs of the Premier League in 1992, visits the Rose City as part of a three-city, preseason tour of the United States. Led by manager Paul Lambert, Aston Villa features one of the EPL’s top goal-scorers in forward Darren Bent, United States internationals in goalkeeper Brad Guzan and defender Eric Lichaj and Ireland National Team goalkeeper Shay Given.
