American Outlaws in Portland…

As a member of 107ist it seemed pretty clear that a membership in the American Outlaws in Portland (AOPDX) was a worthy cause.  But even if you’re not a follower of AOPDX a ‘get together’ at the Alberta Rose Theatre (7 PM – February 19th) is a date you should put on your calendar.

Why?

Well for starters Mick Hoban, Portland Timbers Community Ambassador, will present the US Soccer vs. Group of Death that evening.

What?

Most should be aware that Mick Hoban is the original Timber and a passionate supporter of US Soccer.  And that night Mick will provide a presentation on his experience in soccer, how a Nation prepares for the World Cup, and how he thinks Coach Klinsmann will prepare the USMNT as they approach the Group of Death in Brazil.

Part of the evening also includes a deep dive on the USMNT’s prospects in Brazil as well as a Q&A with the Audience; the AOPDX Group of Death scarf will be released to the public for the first time at the event and a few other additional surprises will follow to make the experience truly special!

Tickets are $15 the night of the show or $10 in advance. 107ist and/or AOPDX members receive a $3 discount with tickets priced at $7 using the code AOPDX66. As with other 107ist efforts a portion of the proceeds will benefit AC Portland.

In closing…

AOPDX is the 66th Chapter of the American Outlaws (AO) family; AO now has over 100 Chapters nationwide.  The PDX Chapter was formed in the summer of 2011 and there are roughly 300 members.  Robert W. Cross is the Chapter President and he’s thrilled and excited to bring and represent the passion of Soccer City USA in support of the Women’s and Men’s National Teams.

If you are interested in joining AOPDX you can sign up at www.theamericanoutlaws.com/membership You can follow all activities on Twitter at @AOPDX and on Facebook at www.facebook.com/aopdx

There will be two watch parties in the near future; one at Bazi on Friday for the USWNT vs Canada at 6PM and another at the Cheerful Bullpen on Saturday for the USMNT match vs Korea Republic at 2 PM.  The Cheerful Bullpen is the official bar for all USMNT games.
