Liz Pike wants to be your county chair

Rep. Liz Pike, R-Camas, has always said she would serve, if elected, to the Clark County council chair.

But she’s also said she thought that day would come when “pigs fly,” noting a write-in campaign was unlikely to be successful.

Sure, she filed officially as a write-in candidate.

But that was only to ensure “ no Clark County voter is disenfranchised and that every legal vote counts,” she told The Columbian earlier.

Previously, she’s struck the tone of: I’m so flattered you thought of me, but there’s no chance of this happening so I’m not going to get overly excited.

On Friday, her tune changed, ever-so-slightly.

“The more I thought about it, I want that job,” she said definitely.

If elected, she said she would give up her seat in the Legislature.
