GOP chair says "Thanks, Vancouver"
The forest of campaign signs on 6th Street is gone. So are the crowds that packed last week’s state Republican Party Convention at the Hilton Vancouver Washington. But GOP Chairman Luke Esser hasn’t forgotten his manners.
On Thursday he released this statement from his office in Bellevue:
“Our State Convention was a resounding success this year, and the City of Vancouver deserves credit in large part for that success. We had over 1,700 delegates, alternates and guests gather in Vancouver for our most successful non-presidential year convention in party history, and I have heard nothing but compliments about the hospitality our delegation received during the entire weekend. Thank you Vancouver!”
Next up: The Democrats. They’ll arrive Friday June 25 for a shorter stay. Their main event — the actual convention — will be on Saturday the 26th up the road at the Clark County Events Center.
