Goodbye to a Fair Friend

Today’s news about Dr. Jack Giesy’s passing is so sad. Although I never met him, I certainly knew who he was. I remember seeing him at last year’s Fair in a wheel chair. He rode around the fairgrounds like a proud father. Which was fitting, as I suspect I am not the only one who considered him the modern day Father of the Clark County Fair.

From everything I have read and heard, Dr. Giesy wasn’t just the (volunteer) veterinarian for the Fair. He was one of the Fair’s biggest hearts and supporters. He was a friend to all the 4-H kids and their parents and garnered high respect. He will be missed.

Rest in peace, Dr. Giesy.
