AP rankings: Hockinson (2A), Union (4A) ranked in top 5 of first AP poll
Three Clark County football teams debuted in the top 10 statewide prep football poll, released Wednesday by the Associated Press. The poll is voted on by media members statewide, including The Columbian.
After season-opening victories last week, Hockinson (Class 2A) and Union (4A) are ranked second and third, respectively, in their classifications. Camas is No. 10 in 4A. Mountain View received votes in Class 3A, but not enough to be ranked.
Hockinson’s Week 2 opponent — Archbishop Murphy — is ranked No. 3. The Hawks travel to Everett to face the third-ranked Wildcats at 7 p.m. Thursday, a game that’ll be televised regionally on ROOT Sports.
