An apple a day….

Can you feel it? Can you smell it? Fall is in the air and according to the calendar we are in our first full week of the season. Such an awesome time of year, don’t you think? So much color all around us, cool crisp mornings and even a bright sunny day here and there.

My favorite part of this season? The fragrance that is unmistakably fall! From the warm soup simmering on the stove, to the smell of sweet apples. Fresh bread baking in the oven and even the smell of fallen leaves in the yard. I love it all!

Right now, in most farmers markets and farm stands there are crates and boxes of apples. Every kind you can think of and even some that you may not have even heard of. This past week I was visiting my favorite farm stand and found a variety of apple called a Winter Banana. I’ve got to say, it was quite tasty.
