Call to Artists – Public Art for Overlook Park in Ridgefield, WA
Ridgefield’s Overlook Park serves as a public square in the center of Ridgefield’s downtown commercial district, offering spectacular views of the Ridgefield National Wildlife Refuge. The plaza complements the small town charm of Ridgefield’s historic downtown, providing facilities for visitor orientation to the City and the Refuge, and serving as a community focal point and gathering place. The park also serves as an anchor for the Refuge in Ridgefield’s Old Town, enhancing the community’s connection with both the Refuge and its natural environment, and local history.
This “call to artists” is for the major art piece/focal point for Overlook Park. During park design, specific locations were identified for future art installations. This particular art piece will be located at the center forefront at the entrance of the park. The Overlook Park Committee has a completion date of summer of 2015. Proposals must be submitted by April 1, 1915.
