The Ridgefield City Council appointed John Main and Sandra Day to the Ridgefield City Council at a special City Council meeting on Thursday September 13, 2012. Mr. Main and Ms. Day were sworn in during the meeting and will serve on the Council until the next municipal election in November 2013. The Ridgefield City Council made the appointments after interviewing seven applicants.
Mr. Main and his family moved to Ridgefield in 2007 and he has served on the City Planning Commission since 2010. Ms. Day has lived in Ridgefield since 2008, has been an active volunteer for a number of organizations in the region and brings extensive corporate and non-profit experience to her role on the City Council.
“John and Sandra will bring new perspectives to the Ridgefield City Council and we look forward to their contributions,” said Mayor Onslow. “We are facing a diverse set of issues as we grow and the two new Council members can only help us address them in a more effective way. We were also extremely pleased that seven very qualified residents stepped forward to serve the community. There are plenty of opportunities for them, and others, to be involved.”
