Congratulations to Cody Alexander and Joe Siegel from Ridgefield High School, who attended the week-long Explorer Academy recently at the Yakima Firing Center. The Clark County Sheriff’s Office Explorers are from post #893.
The Academy is a full-time training environment that mirrors the atmosphere at the real law enforcement academy. During the week of training, Explorers learn in classrooms, are taught drill, taken to a firing range, and complete an agility test. This is the Clark County’s first time participating in the academy in several years.
The Explorer Program is designed to give students ages 15.5 to 21 an opportunity to observe the criminal justice system and assist them in making informed career decisions.
