The Rain Goddesses Strike Again in Ridgefield

Members of the Ridgefield Garden Club were out in force this morning, replacing the winter pansies that were in the planter boxes with fresh annuals.

Did you know the Garden Club started in 1938, and has been a major force in beautifying downtown Ridgefield ever since? We owe these ladies a debt of gratitude for their hard work all year round. The Garden Club tractor used to be a common sight downtown early in summer mornings, pulling a 1000 gallon water cistern. Now that traffic has gotten heavier, the ladies no longer use the tractor, and they carry water in five gallon drums, sometimes daily during hot weather.
