Plankhouse Turns 10
On March 29th, 2005, the Cathlapotle Plankhouse opened its doors to the public. Operated in partnership with the Chinook Indian Nation, the Plankhouse’s mission to share Chinookan culture, history and archaeology with the public has been successfully carried out over the last ten years.
On March 29th, 2015, we will celebrate ten years of partnerships, volunteers, and education. There will be a private reunion event for program partners and volunteers in the morning followed by a special presentation for the public by members of the Chinook Nation’s Canoe Family at 2pm.
The Cathlapotle Plankhouse will officially open for the season April 12th and remain open for visitors from 12pm to 4pm on Saturdays and Sundays. The Second Sunday Event Series schedule is being finalized and should be out soon. Keep an eye on the Plankhouse page of the Friends website for more details about these events.
