Ridgefield American Legion Post 44 will conduct their annual Cruise-In this year on Saturday July 27, from 11 – 4. This year a few new twists have been added, For the first time ever a “Ridgefield Backyard BBQ Battle” will be held in conjunction. The post is seeking 15 backyard barbequers to show their cooking prowess. They will each have a stall in the Skate Park and they will pick up their meat and be able to start cooking at 9am. Each contestant will cook a portion of ribs and chicken.
Judging will be done by PBS’ BBQ America TV Show Host Rick Browne. Mr. Browne has judged in many BBQ Competitions across America. There will only be 15 BBQ’ers, entry fee is $35 and there will be prize cash for the top three! First place $350, second $125 and third prize is $50.
The First Place winner gets a plaque proclaiming them the “The Ridgefield Backyard BBQ King”.
The post will also have fresh cooked BBQ meals for sale.
A Dunking Booth will be set up where you can come dunk Bob, a Cop in uniform or other locals! There will be a Raffle with some excellent prizes and most important of all will be the Customs, Classics, Hot Rods, cool cars, trucks & bikes!
