Fourth of July in Ridgefield

This year the Fourth of July celebration will be very different than last year because of the construction at the schools and Overlook Park. Still the same great event, just slight location adjustments.

The parade staging will be on the north end of Main. The parade will begin at Division and Main and continue around and up Pioneer.

Spectator parking will be in Abrams Park, not in the school grounds. People can drop family off above in town, park in Abrams and walk or take a shuttle up the hill to the parade route.

Overlook Park is not expected to be ready for a large event by the 4th so the festival will be held entirely on Simon Street.

The coaster derby will run from 5th street down to 4th street on Simon. The vendors, entertainment, kids’ activities and evening dance will be on and alongside Simon.

The fireworks will be launched from the west of the railroad tracks next to the boat launch, but viewing will be from the east side of the railroad tracks along Railroad Avenue. No individual fireworks will be allowed in viewing areas before and during the fireworks show. Bring your chairs and blankets.

The entire event is put on by volunteers with the support of our city and our sponsors. The 4th of July committee welcome any group or individuals that would like to participate or help. For more information visit the website at www.ridgefield4th.com.
