Have you noticed the ‘’new, improved” coffee containers at the supermarket lately? They are made of plastic with a handle on one side, making them look sleek and attractive. Don’t be fooled. That new container has 18% less coffee than the old canister style, and is made of plastic which ends up as land fill. Not only that, but the lid is difficult to remove.
Another step backward, following the reduction in size of half gallons of ice cream that now contain 1.5 quarts, or 25% less.
What can YOU do about it? Don’t buy the coffee in the smaller size. You could even go as far as calling the coffee manufacturer to complain. As far as ice cream, there’s not much you can do at this point because all the brands have gone to the smaller size.
