Jan Haig and Earleen Griswold have opened a ‘Shabby Chic’ pop up shop in the lobby of the Old Liberty Theater in downtown Ridgefield, Washington, which will be open during the month of December. Their goal is to ‘re-purpose’ furniture and other things, resulting in one-of-a-kind items.
I stopped in the shop this afternoon, and Earleen said things are going out the door practically as they come in, so you’ll want to stop by frequently as they have new items replacing the existing inventory as it’s sold.
The painting process they use on furniture has several steps. First they apply a layer of chalk paint, then a wax. Over that they put the distressed finish which makes their furniture unique. They also offer custom finishes on items supplied by customers.
You can now own a unique conversation piece that fits exactly in your home, thanks to these ladies. And the prices are very reasonable.
The pop-up shop will be open during the regular hours of Seasons Coffee Shop, which are 6am to 5pm weekdays, 7am to 5pm Sundays, and 7am to 2pm Saturdays. The shop will open again in the spring. Come into town and browse through their inventory – or bring your piece for them to examine.
