'Calling All Cars' Cruise-In in Ridgefield

American Legion Post 44 is sponsoring their second annual “Calling All Cars” Cruise-In Friday evening August 3, 2012, in conjunction with Ridgefield’s August First Friday event. They anticipate 100 -125 custom, classic and restored cars, truck and motorcycles will be on display. There is no charge for just walking around and enjoying the sights and sounds – in fact they welcome everyone to come on down and have a great time!

There will be raffles, most of the businesses will be open and have specials, and there will be fun events going on.

For example, Bob’s Automotive is sponsoring a “Brick-It” contest. They will drain all the coolant and oil from a 1997 Chrysler Intrepid and place a brick on the accelerator pedal and let the engine run wide open until it blows up! Individuals will be able to buy blocks of time, guessing how long the engine will last. The person who guesses the correct time and each person on the next block higher and lower will win a cash prize.

All proceeds will be donated to Post 44. The entire event will run from 4:00 PM – 9:00 PM, trophies and raffle winners will be announced starting at 8:00PM.
