Did turnout affect the county chair race?

Yesterday we shared a map showing the voter turnout by precinct in Clark County’s Aug. 4 primary election. Reader Justin Stanley noticed that turnout seemed to be lower in what he dubbed the “Boldt Belt,” where county chair candidate Marc Boldt seemed to do the best. At a glance, he seemed right, but we could think of no better way than to add a filter to the primary results map we published a couple of weeks ago to see if that’s correct. Unfortunately, we couldn’t create an overlay but we could add a filter to our previous map showing primary results for the county chair race. This new map is below and the slider in the upper right allows you to filter out precincts with lower turnout. You be the judge.
