Portland State University just launched a new online certificate program called “The Business of Craft Brewing.”

The online program teaches business aspects of craft breweries, distilleries and cideries.

Four classes are required for the certificate, which costs $2,796. They are:

  • Basic Business for Craft Brewers
  • Craft Beverage Business Management
  • Strategic Craft Beverage Marketing
  • Finance and Accounting for the Craft Brewery

Optional classes include an immersion weekend and a sponsored internship.

“There are several good programs in the US that teach how to brew.” said Mellie Pullman, who’s running the program. “But none that focus on the business skills it takes to run a craft brewery, distillery or cider facilities. That’s where we come in.”
