Przybilla will not opt of contract, agent says
Bill Duffy, agent for Portland Trail Blazers center Joel Przybilla, said Friday afternoon that there are no plans for Przybilla to opt out of his contract this summer.
Przybilla holds a player option worth $7.4 million.
Duffy said Przybilla’s health is the main issue right now. Factors such as playing time — Przybilla will likely compete with Greg Oden and Marcus Camby for Portland’s starting center spot — will be addressed if they become relevant.
Przybilla, 30, has been with the Blazers since 2004. But he played in just 30 games last season, starting only seven, after suffering a season-ending right knee injury. Przybilla then reinjured the knee in March, and was forced to undergo a second operation.
