Filippell denies search firm report

Buffy Filippell, president of TeamWork Consulting, denied a report Tuesday that she is in charge of search firm that has been hired by the Portland Trail Blazers to find a replacement for Blazers general manager Kevin Pritchard.

Filippell acknowledged that she worked in the past with the Blazers, helping the organization hire a previous general manager. But she said she had no information about any details relating to Pritchard’s future, nor published reports that the Blazers had hired a search firm.

“I don’t know anything about this,” Filippell said. “As a search consultant, I have not been contacted by the Blazers.”

Pritchard acknowledged Tuesday that the Blazers had hired a search firm to evaluate possible general manager candidates. However, Pritchard said he did not know where the Blazers were in the process, nor the details involved.
