Interview: Blazers president Miller discusses free agency, GM search
Transcript of an interview conducted Friday with Portland Trail Blazers president Larry Miller.
Miller on free agency:
I think it’s going well. We’ve reached out to a number of players, and I think we’re evaluating who it makes sense for us to go after hard. I think we’re making a lot of progress. I can’t give you any names or who we’re targeting at this point, but I feel good about where we are in terms of the progress. (Scouts) Mike Born and Chad (Buchanan) are driving it with (coach) Nate (McMillan) and I helping out.
On the possibility of engaging in a sign and trade:
I think we definitely will let some dominoes fall. But if there’s something out there that made sense for us that we could do and would make our team better, we definitely would consider it for sure.
On the status of the GM search:
We talked to Danny (Ferry). There’s not been an offer extended at all. We talked to Danny and it went well. We’re still looking at talking to other people and we’re still in the process.
