Blazers plan to target Pfund, source says
The Portland Trail Blazers are expected to contact Randy Pfund as the next candidate in the organization’s search for a new general manager, a league source said.
Pfund resigned as Miami’s GM in September 2008. He oversaw player personnel moves for 13 seasons, during which the Heat won an NBA championship and earned 10 postseason berths.
However, the source said there are questions about whether Pfund is an ideal choice for the Blazers. Pfund worked with Pat Riley in Miami, and there are still questions in the league concerning how much of the Heat’s success can be directly attributed to Pfund.
