Blazers granted exception for Greg Oden
ESPN’s Marc Stein reported today that the Blazers have been granted a $3.4 million disabled player exception for Greg Oden, who was examined by an independent physician and determined to have an injury that will keep him out for the season.
League rules allow for such exceptions to be used to acquire just one player — whether it be via a trade or free-agent signing — but they can also be used to take on salary. The Blazers have until December 30 to use the exception.
