Woman who collapsed at Blazers-Mavericks game passes away at 67
The Multnomah County Medical Examiners office confirmed to the Oregonian that the unidentified woman who collapsed at last night’s Trail Blazers-Mavericks game died at Emmanuel Hospital within 24 hours of arriving.
In the fourth quarter of last night’s game at the Moda Center, an incident occurred in the 100 level stands requiring emergency medical assistance.
Players and coaches from both teams looked on with concern during the emergency.
“”I was sitting on the bench it was right after a time out and I didn’t know what was going on,” said Damian Lillard. “I saw the whole crowd looking in one direction. It looked like concern. I saw the stretcher get pulled out, I was really concerned. Even if you don’t know who the person is, they were still someone willing to come out and support us. I hate to see that happen to anybody. I’ll go home and pray that this person is okay. You never want to see that happen to anybody. It’s sad that that can happen.”
Emergency medical personnel performed CPR and a group of fans helped carry the fan on to a stretcher who was then wheeled off into the tunnel.
