Aldridge talks GM survey, four other Blazers mentioned

Today, the NBA’s annual General Manager survey from around the league was released on NBA.com. Every year, all of the general managers from around the league are asked a series of questions about players and coaches from around the league.

The only rule regarding the voting is that general managers were not allowed to vote for their own players or coaches in the survey.

LaMarcus Aldridge was voted the fourth-best power forward in the league, tied with Blake Griffin. Tim Duncan was voted number one, with Kevin Love finishing second and LeBron James finishing third in the voting.

Although, at practice on Tuesday, Aldridge didn’t seem to care too much.

“Everybody has an opinion, you know,” Aldridge said. “I know what I want to be and it just motivates me to just keep working hard. I’m not going to get angry about it.”

Aldridge joked that “it’s cheating” for LeBron James to be considered a power forward saying that he is a “point guard, two guard, three guard.”

Nicolas Batum received votes for “international player most likely to have a breakout season.” CJ McCollum received votes for “best player from the 2013 draft in five years,” and Allen Crabbe received votes for “biggest steal of the draft.” Although there was a mistake listing him as still being with the Utah Jazz, Earl Watson received votes for “which active player will make the best head coach some day.”
