The NBA landscape changed over the last 48 hours and the same is true for our favorite reality show “The Real Lakers of Los Angeles.” Injuries to Stephen Curry and Chris Paul, which we witnessed last night in Portland, have changed the playoffs. Meanwhile, the Lakers have decided to fire Byron Scott and end his run on “Real Lakers.”

We started talking about serious basketball stories first, which involved Paul’s latest injury. We discussed what that, along with Blake Griffin being “50-50,” does for the Clippers’ chances of winning the series. Can the Blazers suddenly win this series in 6? We also talked about the impact of both the Curry and Paul injuries on the NBA landscape at large. This happens every year but the fortunes for almost every team left in the playoff can change and contenders like Cleveland, San Antonio and Oklahoma City are all waiting to start the next round.

After we talk about the impact the injuries will have on the playoffs, we then discussed the end of the Byron era, potential replacements for the Lakers and how the power struggle will shake out.

There are several NBA series that are tied 2-2 going into Game 5. Tuesday will feature two of those games, with Indiana at Toronto (3 p.m.) and Boston at Atlanta (5 p.m.). Then on Wednesday Charlotte visits Miami and of course the Blazers will be in Los Angeles to face the Clippers.

As always you can follow the Bulls vs. Blazers NBA Podcast on SoundcloudiTunes, or Stitcher Radio. Leave us a five star review.
